The Dow was down 777.68 points to close at 10365.45. It lost 6.98 percent of its value today. The majority of this loss was after 12:30 cst, when it became clear the 'Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008' was going to be rejected by the House, mainly at the behest of Republicans.
